Building a Stronger Future: Important Little League Merger Announcement   - 10/1/2025

We are excited to share an important step we are taking to ensure a thriving, sustainable future for youth baseball in Ventura:
the merger of several local Little Leagues. This strategic restructuring will create two stronger,
healthier organizations effective October 1, 2025 as that is the start of our Fiscal year.


The New League Structure

This merger involves four leagues combining into two new entities. The goal is to maximize
participation, leading to more home games, more friends, and more fun for our players.

Foothill Little League will be merging with Saticoy Little League and retaining the name of Foothill Little League. The new boundary will consist of the current Foothill boundary, while being expanded to encompass Huntizinger and the neighborhoods north. This giving Foothill a dedicated Juniors Field and practice space.

Montalvo Little League will be merging with Coastal Little League  and will be going by the name of Ventura Little League at Montalvo Fields. The new boundary will consist of the current Montalvo and coastal boudaries. While aquiring the portion of Saticoy south of Huntzinger. 

Why These Changes are Necessary

Little League enrollment across the city of Ventura has declined over the past two decades. This
decline is due to various factors, including the rising cost of housing, a decrease in Little League
age youth, travel ball organizations and the growth of year-round club sports. It has made it hard for some leagues in our city to survive. By consolidating, we are addressing this reality to create larger, more robust, and sustainable leagues for the community.

Will my child still be able to play with their friends? Yes!

Little League is dedicated to providing kids the ability to play with their friends, schoolmates, and within their preferred community. Even with the new boundaries, the waiver process and allowances have been updated to ensure current Saticoy and Ventura Coastal players and families will maintain this ability within District 63. 

Boundary Maps should be updated on Little League League finder. If you are currently playing at Foothill(Spring 2025) you have nothing to worry about as you are still eligible to register at Foothill. For the families that are new to our boundaries,
you will be fully eligible to register as well.
